Almost a year…

Dear Emma,

Your 1st birthday is 10 days away. How has it already been a year? It seems like it was so long ago that I held you in my arms and kissed your beautiful face. I wish I could go back to that moment... At the same time, it doesn’t feel like an entire year has gone by. We are all talking about how to honor you on your birthday and what we want to do. Little Mae asked what your favorite foods would be. We guessed bananas, strawberries and avocados. Little Mae suggested we go out to dinner and eat all your favorite foods and she said if it’s sunny we should explore our woods and find a place to make a little garden and have a spot to visit and decorate when we are wanting time with you. She has such a big heart and is such a good big sister to you and to littlest Mae. Seeing her with littlest Mae, I can picture her and you playing. You would have so much fun with her.

Dad and I still have plans for “Emma’s Day”. We want to celebrate your birthday and ask friends and loved ones who would have bought you a gift to instead donate that money to Randall’s NICU in your honor. We hope to expand this every year and grow it into something amazing, just like you.
